Numerical Simulation and Optimization of Rapid Filling of High-Pressure Hydrogen Storage Cylinder

The fast charging process of high-pressure gas storage cylinders is accompanied by high temperature rise, which potentially induces the failure solid materials inside and underfilling cylinders. A two-dimensional (2D) axisymmetric model simulated hydrogen with a rated working pressure 35 MPa volume 150 L. During filling, highest rise cylinder occurs at bottom part cylinder, state charge (SOC) 46.4% after filling. This can be reduced precooling injected hydrogen, SOC reach 95.7% injection. in gradually increases decrease maximum increase 49.3%. For safety exceeding 90%, should precooled to below ?10 °C, could achieve more than 90.3%. internal structure was further optimized without condition. selected length ratios were 25%, 50%, 75%. Compared initial scheme, optimization scheme increased 16%, 38.7%, 40.1%.
